Overview

Pioneer leader Serge, a sculptor, decides to work in a new plastic material, among creatively gifted children in a camp located in an old mansion. Pioneer Lopukhin is so in love with his classmate Ergolina that he does not notice how fascinated Sonya Zagremukhina is with him. Showing their emotions and moods helps their participation in the production of the play "Masquerade" by Lermontov, and the play itself imperceptibly turns into a drama with unexpected confessions, insults, jealousy, and outbursts. The teens are so busy with their feelings that they do not pay attention to the pedagogical ideas of Pioneer Serge, and by the end of the film, with no additional encouragement, they are ready for a commemoration of first love.

01 March, 1966

Overview

Monsieur Feydeau has writer's block and he needs a new play, so he takes an opportunity to observe his upper class neighbors of 1900 Paris. There is Monsieur Boniface with hard domineering wife Angelique; also, Monsieur Cotte with beautiful but neglected wife Marcelle. Henri Cotte traces architectural anomalies (mostly "ghost" sounds in the drain pipes) and plans a night at the Hotel Paradiso, which happens to be the chosen romantic rendezvous spot of Marcelle and Monsieur Boniface. One wife, two husbands, a nephew, and the perky Boniface maid, all at this 'by the hour' hotel and consummation of the affair is, to say the least, severely compromised (not the least by a police raid). All of this is under Feydeau's eye, and his play is the 'success fou' of the next season.

Honor, morality and the "right" outlook on life are paramount. And these concepts were by no means something to be made fun of, which can be somewhat annoying when you remember that this film is based on the English play "Bank Holiday", which took a good English fart on virtues and morality. Inger Holst is a nursing student who, at a party, meets the unreal Jørgen Frandsen, who invites her to a "festive night" one weekend at a hotel in Tisvilde. However, a tragic incident occurs at the hospital where she works. The incident involves the young widower, engineer Berg, whom she has come to know as a fine, real and sympathetic person. Inger's compassion makes her offer to give up her weekend trip and stay with him.
